In the Fall of 2013, BBB solicited nominations for the 2014 Torch Award for Ethical Commerce and the response was overwhelming. “BBB received over 250 nominations! Those businesses received an entry packet to be completed and it was no easy task. They were asked to respond to numerous questions and provide backup documentation. The completed entry packets were reviewed by an independent panel of judges.  The judges decisions determined the finalists and recipients of the 2014 Torch Award for Ethical Commerce,” stated Kathleen Calligan, President & CEO of the BBB serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

“While Middle Tennessee has proven to be home to so many great companies operating with high character; these BBB Torch Award for Ethical Commerce recipients clearly demonstrated their character on a daily basis, and consistently exceed marketplace standards for ethics in their relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, industry peers and the communities in which they do business,” said Calligan.

BBB Middle Tennessee celebrated the four recipients of the 2014 BBB Torch Award for Ethical Commerce, along with the finalists and all the qualifying nominees, at the celebration dinner held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on Thursday, May 15.
