“I am deeply saddened to learn of Ed's passing. Ed approved my hiring into Ross Bryan Associates in 1984, after a recommendation from our joint UT-K college advisor, Dr. Burdette. Ed was a boss, a mentor, but more importantly, a friend. His calm demeanor and warmth were a constant reminder of his Christian faith in a world of chaos. May the Holy Spirit comfort his family in this time of sorrow but be reminded that he is with his Lord now. Thank You, McDougle family, for sharing Ed with us.”

“Ed, he was my guide and PCI auditor several years in Mexico. Recognized for his knowledge, friendship and great heart, it is painful for us to know that he is no longer among us. I wish the family that God bless you and give you the strength to carry this difficult test. I'm sure Ed is in a better place and he takes care of us from where he is. Ed, friend, you will always live in our hearts! I'm sure you'll find the best "mole poblano" you've ever tasted and someday we'll share it.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with the McDougle's family. Conversations with Ed while working together for PCI or at RBA gatherings were always a pleasure. During my junior year at the University of Tennessee, Ed gave an impressive presentation on the Neyland Stadium renovations and I remember thinking, "If only I could be lucky enough to work for a company like that and on a similar project..." Now it's an honor to say I'm apart of the same company where Ed help establish such a wonderful culture. Thank you and God bless.”

“Ed-Butch- McDougle- loved our famlly from day one. Our families became friends but more importantly, Butch and Carla welcomed us into their family. Our daughter and son, especially loved their youngest daughter Elizabeth. (They really didn't know the other daughters). Butch and Carla loved the Lord and Butch taught our sunday school class with great compassion and love for our Lord. Our lives were blessed by him. I'm grateful for the promise of eternal life in heaven. I know of 2 young men who greeted him as he entered his eternal life. I miss you all and lift you in prayer. “in 1990 when I first got seriously involved in PCI Ed introduced himself to me and wanted me to know that if I needed anything or had any questions he would be glad to help. That was Ed. Through the years Ed and I became very good friends and we would always find time to have a dinner together when we saw each other. I worked many hours with Ed on multiple committees and learned a lot from him. I am just heart broken over his passing. I can truly say I loved the man and will miss him dearly. There will be a huge void in our industry with his passing. I hope Ed and Henry will be reunited in the arms of the Lord and some day I hope to be reunited with him as well. God bless Ed McDougle my dear friend.”

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of one of the nicest and most respected people I have ever met. Ed exemplified professionalism in every way, whether it was working tirelessly to wordsmith through the "shall's" and "should's" in countless meetings revising manuals or showing patience with us precast erectors who at times could be difficult to manage. From when I met Ed as a precast "infant" in my first Erector's Committee meeting back in 1998 to the last meeting I attended with him in 2018, Ed always greeted me with a smile and handshake and truly wanted to know how I was doing personally first and professionally second. And from what I have read from others, I can only hope to be as good of a Christian and family man as was Ed. My deepest sympathies are with your family during this difficult time.”

“I took my first training trip with Ed when I first joined RBA 23 years ago. We had a good trip of hard working and some fun too. We went an Italian restaurant in Diego Hill in St Louis and went to Cardinals game afterwards. He said to me: “ Michael, we left our family behind to do hard work. So our guys deserve something good for themselves on the road.” I learnt a lot from Ed on the trip about my job that Ed trusted me so much that he asked me to lead the closing meeting with the client as my first trainee’s meeting. I am glad I didn’t mess up thanks to Ed’s trust and guidance. His love toward his family was strong and influential. I will miss him as a mentor, friend and caring boss.”
