Myrtianne, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’ve read so many wonderful messages in regards to your husband, Dr. Nevin. I feel it a real loss never to have met him. You are so fortunate to have had such a wonderful husband, and beautiful children. So many people never experiance that happiness in their life time. My prayers are with you, and your family daily. I’m praying the Lord will hold you in His arm, and give you peace, and healing. Dear Downs Family:

We were very disheartened to hear the news of Dr. Down’s accident and passing. We are trying to recover from my father’s death exactly a week earlier. I missed Dr. Down’s memorial service only because I did not get correct information but heard it was beautiful.

I look forward to seeing each of you to comfort and console during this sad season. We praise God for his goodness even in the face of our shared grief.

Dear Myrtianne and family,

I am deeply pained by your loss; indeed, it is one that affects, however indirectly, all of us. If memory serves me correctly, I met Nevin only once, many years ago when you and yours were visiting California. Despite the intervening time, I would immediately have recognized Nevin, as he possessed that extraordinarily rare and enigmatic quality of being memorable. Perhaps it was his steely determination, perhaps his subtle humor, but, whatever it was, a unique combination of impalpable attributes rendered him unforgettable. He will be sorely missed.

Very sad to hear about incident and death. Condolences and prayers to his family and friends. A class act person that I met on my 1st surgery experience. As a nursing student in 1978, I was watching a thyroidectomy and passed out and fell to the floor during the initial incision. Dr. Downs helped me on the experience by helping to soften the fall. He took my mask off and wiped my face with cool wash clothe, and stayed with me to help me to finish watching the case. Four years later, he interviewed me for anesthesia school and remembered the incident and was very instrumental in my acceptance and anesthesia education. I attended MTSA 1982 to 1984 and have nothing but sadness in my heart at the loss of Dr. Downs. Heart felt sincerity and prayers, Richard Deindoerfer, CRNA,1984

Debra and I appreciated how close Warren was to his dad and how much fun they would have together fishing and skiing when he would come to Utah. We appreciated being incorporated into Downs family and look forward to seeing you all whenever we get back down South. And we look forward to seeing Nevin in heaven when Jesus comes again to take us all home forever where ther will be no more sickness, sorrow, pain, tears, or death.

We are so sorry to hear of Nevin’s passing. David and Kathi told us. What a shock and loss for your family! Nevin was such a kind and thoughtful guy, but also loved to share in some fun. I remember times at his house when we visited due to my older sister’s (Linda) friendship with Andrea. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
