Honoring Robert Stokes

Pastor Robert L. Stokes, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 28th, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born in Monet Missouri on March 5, 1934.

Pastor Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jane; daughter, Dana (Barry) Maners; son Todd Stokes; stepdaughter, Ellie Campbell; grandchildren, Ethan (Kayla) Maners and Adam Maners; several nieces and nephews and grand-dog, Zeke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Louiza Cooper Stokes; brothers, Raymond Stokes, J.B. Stokes and Homer Stokes; sister, Neta Martin and favorite dogs, Rio and Oscar.

Pastor Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, cherished friend and respected pastor. He had a great sense of humor, truly loved people and was a loving shepherd to each member of his congregation. In addition to 65 years as a pastor, he was a Golden Glove Boxing Champion, he loved fishing and had a fascination for sports cars. But his real joy was visiting the patients in nursing facilities and hospitals during his ministry.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on March 4, 2020 at Brentwood Baptist Church Baskin Chapel at 11:00 am. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the parlor until time of the service. A graveside service will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
